Flare pouches
The flare
pouch
By
definition, these flare pouches are used by soldiers to transport cartridges on
the field.
There are
three major models.
The two
first are made in leather or Prestoff
(recognizable to the smell of tobacco leaf used for cigar manufacturing.
The first
one is a black leather having very precise dimensions
(23cm x 21cm x 10cm).
It has a
sloping lid so different types of cartridges can be ordered (big, medium and
small).
It
has 18 alveoli on three rows, so each row contains 6 cartridges.
The second
model is smaller and has a smaller weight.
The third
model is made in canvas. Some variations exist (especially on straps, done
in leather or in canvas).
Two colours are available: blue or green.
Inside, at
bottom, a piece of wood helps to reinforce the rigidity of the structure and
the pouch.
